If you are thinking of leaving Zoosk cause you’ve found the love of your life or unfortunately it didn’t work out for you, you might want to delete your account along the way. However, Zoosk only allows you to deactivate your account, meaning your data won’t be deleted, but you’ll disappear in Zoosk.
If you just want to take a break from Zoosk, you can also pause your account.
Note: If you have subscribed to Zoosk, you have to cancel your subscription before closing your account.
What happens when you deactivate your Zoosk account?
- Your profile won’t be visible to other Zoosk users.
- If you have any subscription benefits, you’ll lose them and won’t be refunded.
- You’ll lose your friends on Zoosk.
- You won’t be able to receive replies to previous messages.
How to deactivate my Zoosk account using a computer?
- Visit zoosk.com and sign in to your account.
- Click on your name at the top right corner.
- Choose Account Settings from the dropdown menu.
- On the account page, click Edit next to Account Status.
- Select Deactivate.
- Confirm by choosing Deactivate Zoosk account.
How to deactivate the Zoosk account from the app?
- Launch the Zoosk app on your Android phone.
- Tap on the three horizontal lines at the top left corner of your screen.
- Tap on the ⚙️(settings) icon next to your nickname.
- On the setting page, select Account.
- Tap on the pencil icon next to your Account Status.
- Tap Deactivate.
- Confirm your account deactivation.
If you ever want to reactivate your Zoosk account, just log in to your account and you will be back where you left off.

It seems what people do is delete what they can which means one photo and an empty profile. Which is why those accounts with one picture and no profile are a red flag that the person is no longer on Zoosk.
It is IMPOSSIBLE to delete my account following these steps! It wants me to update my payment method BEFORE I can delete my account. WHY? If I am deleting my account, why do you need a new payment method? This is BS – you call my account delinquent because I didn’t want to renew so I used a dead gift card to ensure you can’t bill me? You are more like a thief insisting you charge me one more time on the way out. Scammers.

This does not delete your account it simply deactivates it, keep that in mind. They always retain the account. You could simply go back into zoosk in a years time and hit activate and all your account will still be there.
Zoosk.com is shady and an application you want to stay away, they gather more data than Facebook and Google combined, I know hard to believe right? How do I know that, because I was part of that team at some point. In some instances they refuse deactivating your account, even if you are not a paying member or what they call subscriber, even if you are on a desktop computer like they recommend, why do you think that is?

Pam Kraft, technically you cannot delete your Zoosk account. You can only deactivate your account, which will hide your profile from Zoosk but won’t delete your data from Zoosk.
I followed all the steps and it only enables me to pause my account because the deactivate button isn’t highlighted so I can’t choose it.
This annoyed me about zoosk. You can only deactivate your account from a laptop or pc not from the app that is accessed from a phone or tablet. So if you only have a tablet or phone you cant deactivate your account.
How horrible. This is what I call a forced confinement. Been trying to delete my account for over a week and not it makes sense. I do not have a laptop….. what are my options???!
